The Sunday Friends group is a group for people with special needs/ learning disabilities and/or autism and their families.
They meet regularly on Sundays in the Newman Community Centre, presently from 1-2.30pm. Dates of meetings are included in our parish newsletter. For more information please e-mail. - - - Valuing Difference: A Bishops' Conference document exploring the value and dignity of every human person, and focussing on people with disabilities in the life and mission of the Church is available here. Kairos Forum: an independent consultancy which serves to enable the lives of people who have disabilities and who have been Intellectually Disabled (KFCID). The forum acts as advisors to organisations, such as the Catholic Bishops of England and Wales, providers of education, health and care. Kairos has also provided training in SEN and legislation to over two thousand teachers in the United Kingdom. They work with families and individuals in many areas of the life and hopes of people with disabilities.
