Every little helps and in its 20 years the 50/50 Club has raised much more than just a little to help with parish finances.
The income received from the Members’ annual subscription is divided equally between the parish and the members of the club. The members’ half is given out monthly in prizes. There is a monthly draw, on the 3rd Tuesday of each month during the tea morning held after the 10am Mass. What are the prizes?
This year there have been monthly prizes of £100, £75 and £50. There is a bumper draw in February each year with additional prizes included as to distibute all remaining members’ funds! Last February we had a 1st prize of £400.00 a 2nd prize of £200 and the 3rd was £100 we also gave two £50 bonus prizes |
How does the parish use the money it receives from the Club?
It is used for things that we might not be able to afford to do otherwise – things that are of immediate benefit to the parish, especially repairs and renewal of the church and its meeting rooms. In the coming year we expect to be drawing on money raised to help refurbish the porch to the McEvilly Room and new storage furniture for the Benedict Room.
