Pastoral visits when in hospital

Fr Allen and a team of parishioners regularly visit the sick and housebound, in their homes or in hospital.
If you are going to hospital and would like to celebrate the Sacrament of the Anointing of the Sick before you go in, please contact Fr Allen.
Fr Allen is also very happy to come to visit at the local hospitals. However please also advise the Hospital when you are admitted that you are Catholic, and, if you wish, ask for the Hospital's Catholic chaplain to visit, either just to visit, or for you to receive Holy Communion, or for the ministering of the Sacrament of the Sick. It is helpful to ensure that the ward staff also know.
No one looks forward to a stay in hospital, but if it becomes necessary, it’s important that you are well cared for. Part of that good care is the Hospital Chaplaincy Service; a multi-faith department whose role is to provide for the spiritual, pastoral and religious needs of patients and their relatives.
On admission to hospital please ensure that your religion is registered and confirm that this information may be passed to the Roman Catholic Chaplain.
Chaplains offer a friendly face, a listening ear, and a chance to talk through thoughts and concerns, prayer, religious care, Sacraments. Everything is held in strict confidence.
