Lichfield Cathedral is the Cathedral Church of the Anglican diocese of Lichfield.
The Cathedral is built on the site of buildings associated with St Chad, the first bishop of Mercia, the ancient Kingdom which included the area in which now we live.
St Chad is a principal patron of the Catholic Archdiocese of Birmingham, of which our parish is part.
Relics of St Chad are venerated at St Chad's Cathedral, our Archdiocesan Cathedral in Birmingham. Recently a portion of the relics has been entrusted to Lichfield Cathedral to be placed in their new shrine to St Chad, as a focus for prayer.
